Senior Developer/Database Specialist I: This position requires at least 5+ years experience testing and operating distributed information technology. Strong analytic skills and proven ability to create and execute test plans, based on release documentation and feature lists. Working knowledge of NT, UNIX, Web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, HTML, XML, etc.), SQL (Oracle, DB2, etc.), transaction processing, etc.) Familiarity with multi-threading and communication protocols (TCP/IP, SS7, ISDN, etc.). Ability to use protocol analysis tools, program logs, program traces, etc. to locate the source of system failures. Participate jointly with development staff to create test plans. Execute test plans and work with engineering development staff to support system deployment. Experienced with process issues and requirements for migrating software from development to production.

Communications Specialist: This is a career making opportunity for a dedicated, energetic candidate from the new school. The position reports to (and assists) the VP of Corporate Communications, as well as supporting the Director of Public Relations. The role is heavy on communication skills, especially written and interpersonal, but with broad implications to all media. Aptitude with/Knowledge of the subtleties of mainstream applications is a must (Word/PowerPoint/Office, Illustrator/PageMaker, HTML/JAVA/NetObjects). In essence: technical writing, graphic artist, basic web, and organizational skills are the foundation of this job. You will be asked to demonstrate a lot of each. Deputy Program Manager/Senior Systems Engineer: Coordinate a very complex, revolutionary project entailing business-to-business services. The services include Web-based trading and convergent (packet and circuit) telecommunications. You will, under the direction of the Program Manager/Vice President of Business Development, collect & document requirements received from Product Management and other sources, assess the impact of the requirements on the current release plan of the service and on back-end operations and systems, prioritize and assign these requirements to product release, negotiate buy-in among functional organizations, and issue updated product release plans including required operations. MS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 4+ years experience in using online tools for complex project/program; demonstrable program management experience; knowledge of Web technology.

Director, Packet Telephony Services: Manage packet-services aspects of a revolutionary, convergent (packet & circuit) telecommunication service with predictable levels of QoS. Coordinate the design and implementation of packet-aspects of routing/switching nodes. Manage a small group of technical staff with full responsibility for designing and implementing packet-aspects of the service, which includes a multi-vendor environment. Manage the development of a diverse service environment including Voice/IP gateways, gatekeepers, inter-gatekeeper signaling, PSTN switch interfaces. Provide technical support to the network Operations Department, and issue operational guidelines for their use. Contribute to a design of convergent routing policy and help to implement it on a global scale. Cooperate with Program Management to assure synchronization with product release plans and back-end operations.

You will be guided by the Program Manager/VP of Business Development. Requires an MS in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field. 2+ years experience in packet telephony services design, operations, or R&D. Understanding of current trends in packet telephony, including standards such as H.323. 4+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure design and/or operations. Knowledge of Web technology. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

Engineer, Packet Telephony: Under the guidance of the Director, Packet Telephony Services, coordinate with manufacturers of packet-telephony equipment to enable the integration of their platforms within the nodes of a revolutionary, convergent (packet & circuit) telecommunication service. Provide technical guidance to the Development Group on packet-telephony components (gateways, gatekeepers) that require interfaces to other service-providing, policy, and back-end systems. Track evolving standards, and fold that knowledge into the design and operation of the service. Derive solutions to problems related to the integration of the convergent telecommunication service, and apply these solutions to the service. Help guide the activities of developers and technicians associated with other functions (Development, Integration, Testing, and Operations).

BS/MS in Telecommunications or related subject. 2+ years of experience with Voice/IP gateways and/or gatekeepers.Basic understanding of current trends in packet telephony, including standards such as H.323. Network Strategist/Planner: We need an individual who has relatively senior network planning and management experience at a major carrier or consultant. He/She should have a strong understanding of the technological issues involved, but more importantly, must have a global view of the business aspects of the network. Candidates should have experience assessing the business need, planning the functionality of the network, interfacing with the engineering functions of the organization, and working closely with the sales/marketing department.

Specifically, you must have significant insight into the mindset of carriers and cable operators (such as AT&T, C&W, and newer operators like Qwest and Global Crossing), with respect to their business development and network planning activities. You will be required to advise on the business implications of various network deployment strategies, as well as to evaluate Arbinet’s bandwidth product from the perspective of the typical carrier network planner. Network Technical Specialist: We need an individual who has implementation experience with a range of network technologies, including IP, ATM, and SDH/SONET. He/She must have extensive knowledge of the functional and engineering aspects of routers, switches, and fiber systems. Specifically, the role will be to select the hardware and software components necessary to satisfy the product specification developed by business planners. You will supervise/perform installation, activation, and maintainance of the equipment, and will interface with current elements of the Arbinet organization to integrate (from a technical point of view) the bandwidth product with the existing Arbinet product line.
